Hiding pipes in brick?

Just knocked the plaster off the walls in our kitchen. In 2 places we have pipes running up to the floor above that were boxed in and kinda get in the way.

Now that the brick work is exposed, what is the best way to hide the pipes in the wall?
 
I have just channeled in some pipes to a shower mixer valve and this was only have way up a wall - if you are going all the way up to the ceiling you have a long hard job chiseling out!!
