Hi All,
I have has a little search and can't find the answer to my problem.

So these things may or may not be connected, but please stay with me.

1) I recently noticed that my washing machine did not seem to be cleaning things as well as it used to.
2) I have noticed in recent weeks that when the machine is off I often see a dimly lit "6" on the display (pictured). I haven't noticed it in the 3 years we've had the machine. It doesn't look like the usual error message as that normally has an "F" along with it.
3) Today I did a towel wash, and am wondering whether it may have been a little heavy for the machine. At the end of the cycle I put it on to do an extra spin, as I always do, but noticed that it started the count down but wasn't spinning. It briefly displayed the error "F08" but hasn't done this since - despite me trying to spin the machine multiple times. The towels were pretty wet so I don't think it did the spin that came with the cycle, either.

Things I have noticed/tried:
- The towels were warm when I took them out, probably over an hour after it finished washing, so I know it did warm the water up.
- I checked the filter and nothing was blocking it. I did also notice the impeller spinning as it was set to "Spin" at the time (although the drum wasn't spinning).
- I have tried a spin cycle with an empty drum, but it still won't spin. I saw a brief jerk of movement when I hit go, but it probably moved a centimetre or something.
- When I manually spin the drum it is judder, but not too noisy.

I would like to try to resolve this without having to call a professional, but acknowledge this may not be possible.

Any advice/ideas?

Thanks in advance!

Just a 6 is not in the error code list so I'm not sure what that means.

Here are the error codes.

Although googles AI suggests:
A Hisense washing machine displaying error code 6, often denoted as F06, typically indicates a motor tachometer error, meaning the washing machine is not detecting the correct motor speed. This suggests a problem with the motor or its associated components.

Here's a more detailed breakdown and troubleshooting steps:

Understanding the Error:
  • F06 (or E06): This error code signifies a communication problem between the washing machine's control unit and the motor, specifically the tachometer (a component that measures motor speed).

Thank you for responding. I don't think it's an error code, as it comes on when the machine is off!! I may have to call them on Monday to ask if it is related..!

I assume I have to take the back off to gather some more info about the belt etc. before I can start to figure this out...

If it has them, check the motor brushes are not worn down or sticking in their holders as a first step.

As I have one of these, please do return and let us know the result of your telephone call.
btw, googles ai suggests unplugging it for a few minutes.
As this works with most computer related stuff, it's worth a try.
