Hive 1 central heating kit

I had one of these and over the years, am now left with the circled piece. This is connected to my combi boiler and I can switch the heating on from the button on this. This is a time limited override and doesn’t allow me to control the temperature.

Q. Can I purchase a hive 1 room thermostat from eBay and pair up with the existing device? I assume the remaining piece is only required for remote access?

Hi, yes you can pair the control unit to another thermostat. Please be aware that if you went for a second hand hub once it has been registered it cannot not be re-registered to another user. There are lots for sale on eBay but won’t be any use if wanting the phone app.
You should be okay with just a thermostat and your existing control unit.
