Hi I want to replace my existing heating control (potterton ep2001) with the hive active heating control. I am not quite sure which of the existing wired should be connected to the hive and which should be left. I would really appreciate any advice.
Regards Roger

Lose the link to 5 and wire the rest up the same ie lne and hw on,off and ch on. Link your room stat out at either wiring centre end (preferable) or make n safe on its own and link l and ls wires to room stat

Thanks for your help. When I had the combi boiler installed the engineer arranged the system to always have hot water. The hive I have is the one for a combi. What happens to the hot on off wires in the control please

I think this is your old programmer? So only N, L, 4, and 5 should be used with a combi boiler, I would guess the wires to 1 and 3 are now redundant, but guess is not really good enough. Likely some where there is an old wiring centre, likely where the cistern and motorised valves were? You need to check.

you have double posted this and you are getting conflicting results because you have given different information in both posts
