Hi

I’m looking to install hive active heating and want to check the wiring.

The first image is the wiring on the existing Drayton SW1 timer which seems to match the wiring required for hive

The 2nd image in the wiring behind the Dafoss Thermostat which will obviously not be required.

Could someone advise the best way to deal with the thermostat wires. Ive been reading a lot of different advice about bridging the wires but then then people saying not to have a permanent live connection. I’ve currently left the old thermostat in place and left it at 30 to allow hive to work.

your first pic is a fire waiting to happen, get it sorted immediately

I’m guessing you are referring to the bare wire going to three? That’s how badly it’s been since this was installed over 15 years ago but I’ll get someone to sort it. Thanks

That is an unsleeved Earth wire being used as a live, a very big no no
