Thanks

what controls your system, is it Y plan s plan or gravity Hot water

yes some photos do you have 2 x 2 port valves or 1 x 3 port valve , or just a pump ? also show pics of any existing controls that you have, the answer to your question is yes the hive can be used but there are different ways of connecting it depending on your set up

This might help. Here are the three most common types of system.

Y-Plan (One 3-Port Motorised Valve)

S-Plan (Two or More 2-Port Motorised Valves)

Gravity Circulation Hot Water & Pumped Central Heating (No motorised valves, hot water not pumped)

There are other possible configurations, but they are much less common.

Hi apologies for the delay; it's a Gravity Circulation system. Will Hive work with this kind of setup? THanks

You can use a Dual Channel Hive to control systems with gravity circulation of hot water and pumped central heating. The Hive has has to be put into a special 'gravity' mode to work with these systems that do not allow the heating to be on without the hot water being on also, due to the plumbing restrictions. The Hive instructions tell you how to do it.

Just make sure that your system does actually have gravity circulation of the hot water. Sometimes people get confused between 'Gravity Circulation' and 'Gravity Fed' [ie a system with storage tanks in the loft]. They are not the same thing.
