What you will have to do, is workout how your existing controls are wired up so that you know what wire does what before connecting them to the Hive. The existing wiring method will have been chosen by the original installer and will vary according to what controls / boiler you have. Their physical layout in your home and the installers personal preferences.
You don't give any information about your system, but normally if there are two zones (upstairs & downstairs for example) and you have a combi boiler then then two Single Channel Hive receivers would be required.
Instead, if you have stored hot water, one Dual Channel Receiver is required for the hot water and the first heating zone, then a Single Channel receiver for each of the remaining heating zones.
