I have polypipe thermostats that operate my ufh but they are not the easiest to use or regulate, how easy would it be to install hive thermostats? Any advice much appreciated cheers

Installing is just wireing, easy enough, but Hive will sense the room temp , your existing might have floor sensors as it is UFH, you need to know what system you have , Hive will control the temp of the air in the room, your existing might control the temp of the floor

I have 3 floors, downstairs is ufh with 4 thermostats for each zone, floors 2 and 3 are radiators with a thermostat for each so I'm guessing I'll need x6 hives which will be pretty expensive are they really that good? Also to I need to check the wires on the back of the existing thermostats to see if hives are compatible? Cheers again

You can get a wired up version of the Hive thermostat that would make it easier to just swap your underfloor heating stats, (so long as they are just standard mains powered thermostats and not some type of low voltage ones that send data to the control centre rather than just switching on and off.)

A few months ago I fitted 7 for a British Gas customer, as well as a normal dual channel Hive for upstairs radiators and hot water.

So that was 8 heating zones and 1 hot water zone.

But I think the wired version are about £100 each so would have been a dear do!

I'm not familiar with those Poly Pipe thermostats, maybe someone else is?

Would I still have to change the control panel if I used wired hive thermostats?

So long as the existing stats are mains powered the Hive wired up stats would just replace them, you wouldn't need to change the control panel

Is that definite? Are wired hive thermostats different to the usual ones available or are they all wired or wireless? Thanks again
