hole in bath

Not repairable no, you may get the insurance to cover it as the basin got dropped in by accident, only your insuarnce company can tell you for sure :)

Guess it depends whether you have accidental damage on your house insurance really.

I don't have accidental damage myself (I tend to complain a bit and then cough up the money myself if I break something :D) but I would have thought it would cover "most" eventualities.

If you don't have accidental damage I think you're gonna have to pay for it yourself regardless.

Of course it repairable. Depends how particular you are with the finish
Get some fiber glass mating and resin on the outside of bath.
Get some white gel coat from a boat shop.

Doubt if the white gel coat will be exactly the same shade as the bath.

You don't need to rip the bath out at all.

I have repaired baths using these products successfully.

I even used car body filler on one hole caused by a dropped tile and it has been leak free for 3 years.

This is what I used:

The repair will be just as strong as the bath itself. Just make sure you follow the instructions correctly. Even if you can't live with the idea of a 'repaired' bath give it a go- it will take 20 mins and at least you will still have a useable bath for the time being.

Yes this can be repaired, ensure that the damaged area is clean and free from moisture, use a weak sovlant from the underside. Get a fibreglass repair kit from your local car spares shop and patch the underside of the bath. For the inside of the bath you can apply gel coat after the area has been cleaned and locally abraided using a fine abrasive. when cured you can abraid the gel coat until flush and then polish it back using a rubbing paste such as T-Cut.
