holes in joists

they're big, hard and you wouldn't want to meet one down a dark alley at night (trust me, I've met part of one).

anyhow, when i lift out floorboards and what not the nails they were nailed in with leave holes. can i put some strengthening filler in there, even though it's a complete waste of time and the joist isn't going to suffer too badly anyhow?

And what filler should I use? Something that would strengthen it. I don't think filling it with grip fill would, or would it?

if you really want to fill them you will need a epoxy resin mixed with a microfibre type filler
