Where are you going this year? are there places you'd recommend? or say to avoid?

We're camping in the next few weeks (in the UK)... if the weather holds... And then going to Menorca...

Toyed with Greece this year, never been.... is it worth a visit?

I've just given my tent to charity; well about two months ago. It used to be cheap and cheerful but the cost of pitching one has become obscene in some places.

Add to this the poor British weather I had last time and trying to grovel in and out like a duck over mud and I've never once been able to sleep properly because it's uncomfortable, and no matter if there's hardly a breath of wind it's always enough to flap the flappy bits all night. For about an exta tenner I've resigned to using a cheap B&B.

I'll stop there because it could turn into a 'Everything I hate about camping' thread

I've just come back from Devon, went to a Civil wedding thingy. Lesbians certainly know how to party! Are you after the seaside Sombreo? Trouble is the whole world and his wife will be in all the hot spots. If you're unsociable, like me, avoid the coast. I went to a quaint little village near Newton Abbot called Ippelpen. 10 points to anyone who's heard of that place.

Seen the sign to Ipplepen, Big Tone, don't know if I've actually been there or not. Does that score points? Some quaint places up that way. Also anybody know "The Tool Box" at Colyton. Useful place for s/h tools. I haven't been up there for a while.

yes he did.........we are going to Malta in October too ..


id recommend Malta for the cheap food and wine, cheap public transport....and the lovely hot sunshine...

but def not a family destination , as there's nothing for kids to do.

Will try and finally get to Auschwitz this year, not the happiest place to go on holiday but there you go. Will probably sneak two days in Krakow around that and about 4-5 days in the Beskidy mountains. Road trip.

Benidorm....went a couple of years ago...hated it from start to finish,never again... full of drunken Essex boys who got louder as the beer flowed and Essex couples all the men was skiiny with fat wives and tattoo to hell and horrible spoilt, noisy,screaming,whinging kids names like paris-york .......... never never again, I would rather spend two weeks in jail
