Hi,
Every year I get a letter from Three Valleys Water offering me Burst Pipe cover from Homeserve, this purpose of the cover is for the pipe that goes from the water mains in the street to inside my house at the stop cock, they want £15.99 this year, I know it's not a fortune but is it worth it?
They guarantee a 'Specialist Engineer' within " hrs
The cover is for upto £2,000 and you can make upto 2 claims a year (You would hope once was enough).
The pipe that feeds form the water mains in the street to my stop cock is Rubber, it goes underneath the hose, as the mains is out the front and the stop cock in the Kitchen at the back of the house.I would hope that this Rubber pipe is of a certain standard designed to last say 100 years or so, but then again I do live in an ex council property, so that may have used anything.
Would the rubber pipe be inside some other type of pipe, so that if it does need replacing its just a case of 'Pulling a new one through'?
So,the basic question is, is it worth it?
Thanks
Steve
