I didn't do any research into travertine before agreeing to tile our bathroom in travertine. I might be starting to regret that.....

I've laid the floor now (replaced boards with 25mm WBP with nogins as joins, BAL single part flexible adhesive used with solid bed), not grouted yet and i'm just about to start on the walls.

However, do i need to seal the travertine? As i said before, the floor is travertine and the walls around the bath will be travertine. As we have a shower over the bath they will get pretty wet. If i do need to seal, what do i seal with and when? Before or after grouting?

Thanks in advance.

all natural stone needs sealing, once before you lay, then after grouting. some like to also do a sneaky one before grouting too.

lithofin stain stop (mn) is the one you want.

I've already laid the floor

But i've managed to keep the tiles pretty clean so i'll seal asap.

Thanks
