my alarm is all wired up and seems to work ok apart from the fact that none of my pir's are working. all the door contact zones are fine.

aux fuse blown?
wired them up wrong?
not connected the power to them?
it could be one of the above or yoiu have not programmed them in?
check all connections, wiring, programming and fuses!!!!
(and do it with a meter, not just looking at them!!)

thanx for the quick response, they are all wired in with a tamper circuit in series. when i do a walk test there is no lit led on the pir ( i have moved the dip switches to the right order)
if i disconnect pir's and leave the 3 zones that are contacts in place the alarm is fine...I havent checked the fuses on board, I understand there are 3 , 1 for the keyboard which is fine, the bell box which is fine, and another for the 12 battery, could it be this that is faulty?

If the above is correct , you have blown a fuse.
Looking at a fuse is NOT the correct way to be confident that it has / has not blown, use a Multi-meter. ( With it removed from the PCB )
again thanx for the replies, ordered the fuses, will replace and see if that is the problem.I think I need to buy a multimeter...could save me a lot of pain in testing.
Not been around much then? What about removing it from the PCB then, is that bit ok?
Changed the fuse , fully tested the alarm...everything hunkdory...and bought a multitester to boot.

Been looking at fuses for around 30 years. It's all to do with simple physics. I guess you don't know much about physics then.
Not going to continue this, pointless with a know it all, who hasn't seen it all.
