Hi everyone, Im new here.

I have had a new honeywell DT92E Thermostat fitted to my new combi boiler system, and with the weather starting to turn I thought I better work out how it works.

I read the absolute useless instruction guide and this makes hardly no sense whatsoever, only giving brief one lines on what various things do, not how to actually operate it.

From what i can gather the normal display is the current room temperature. you then press the up or down arrows to change the temperature you want it set at, and press the on/off button so the flame is displayed and it should then come on, however lastnight, room temp was at 20c, and i set the temp at 28c and turned it on, left it 15 mins and nothing happened, the boiler only fired up when i set the temp to 35c.

Does anyone have experience of this system and the best way to use it?

In the instructions it also goes on about frost protection?? what the hell is that all about??

All i want is to be able to set my heating to come on and go off at certain times of day, and i dont seem to be able to do that?

HELP!!!

Do you have good quality batteries in the stat - ideally Duracell?

How far apart are the two parts of the stat and are there any walls etc between them?

Do you have the Installation Instructions? If so check the 'binding'.

Frost protection brings the boiler on, even if the heating is turned off, when the internal temperature falls to a very low level - about 6C, but it's adjustable. Useful if you are away and the heating has been turned off.

The DT92E is not a programmable stat, you need the CM 921 or 927 for that.

Hadn't noticed that bit.

Assuming you don't already have a programmer/timer, Doitall is quite correct. You need a CM921 (24 hour) or CM927 (seven day) programmable thermostat.

Ok thanks for that.

I havnt checked the batteries in the stat but they are new I think, and it doesnt say low battery on the display.

So if i just leave it on (so the flame is displayed) then the heating should just click on and off all day maintaining that temp?

I was just concerned why it didnt click on when the temp was set at 26c even though it was only 20c in the room.

Can i over ride the thermostat if i want to and just use the normal heater and timer function on the front of the boiler?

thanks

You can use the timer for the times and the stat for temperature as normal.
