Honeywell v4073a1039 Y Valve Faulty???

Hi after hours of fruitless work our heating engineer diagnosed the problem within five minutes.......the new valve was faulty as it wasn't opening when heat required. Had as I said earlier bought a "compatible" rather than Honeywell....big mistake..have now had a Honeywell fitted and all is working 100%.

So in the end what I hoped would be a low cost DIY ended up as a full cost "repair". As our engineer said he has tried "compatibles" in the past but found them so unreliable, despite what site feedback says that he won't use them anymore. Even if they do work initially they generally have a short life span.

Thanks again for all the responses.

Sorry you had to find out this way, and admire you for not giving up until you had to. It is the nature if the beast sometimes though.
