Hoover Washing Machine Err Code 08

I have a hoover washing machine model number DYN8164D2X that made a slight grinding noise when spinning and then gave me an error code 08 at the end of the cycle. Had a look on the net and it says Tacometer or Brushes??
Any help?

Brushes are always the first thing to replace & easy enough to do.
