Hi all is this ok to do, thought that if it was over 50mm deep you where ok to take cables horizantaly along a wall, am i right in this?

Cheers

If you go more than 50mm deep then you can run wherever (not that I'd recommend it)

If you stick to safe zones (hoizontally and vertically in line with accessories), then there is really no need to go that deep!)

Normally I mention part P of the building regs, but today I'll also ask if you've considered the requirements part A

DO NOT CUT A 75mm CHASE HORIZONTALLY INTO A SOILD WALL.

horizontal chases must be kept reasonablly shallow to avoid seriously weakinging the wall. I'm not sure what the exact limits are but I would try to avoid going any deeper than plaster depth.

horizontally from a fitting is a safe zone so as long as there is at least one fitting on each wall there is no need for deep burial or special protection.

150MM Timber frame drilled out at 75mm from plaster board so im ok to do this, i take it from your comments.

that is what i did when i built my house, and if you leave a small amount of slack cable between each upright stud if you need to add another socket, cut hole at same level as other sockets, reach into wall and grab cable and pull slack out of hole, and with power off obviously, cut cable and fit socket to wall using drylining box

Thanks all for your replys, that's made it easier for me :D

Cheers all
