Since moving into my flat about 4 years ago I had noticed that the heatstore control - Horstmann electronic 7 - seemed to lose all settings - time, on off times etc whenever we had a power cut. So this evening I decided to take it apart (no doubt long out of guarentee). I checked the soldered in battery, and to my suprise it was at 2.99V (rated at 3V). However when I tested the unit again it would not hold any information - even after only 10 seconds of power off.
Anyone any ideas? It works fine when powered up - but has to be reset every time we have a power cut (we get one every few months - living in city centre). I do not really want to spend around £60 - £70 for a replacemet if I can avoid it.
