doesn't turn on fully either.
Evening guys. Since having a new kitchen fitted the basin hot tap in downstairs toilet has only worked once. It didn't work for days, then one day it worked. Nothing since.
I assume it is a problem with the tap itself, but can't see how to take it apart. Thanks for any replies. IMG_20170930_193820.jpg

the top of tap ,above the "ringed bits ",is a cover that unscrews off ,anti clockwise . below is a screw that holds the rest of the handle onto the valve ,which is the part that has failed on your tap.

5oysterman2, good evening.

As terryplumb above there is a sort of a "Cap" on the top of the tap, that is what needs to come of first.

But, some of these caps are to put it bluntly, fragile and are at times made of a very thin plastic, so advise using gentle methods when removing, that is do not go at the cap with a set of Mole grips?

Ken.

Cheers for the quick replies. Can i replace the bits that have failed or is a new tap required?

you can get replacement valves , maybe service the one you have depending on whats wrong with it ,or change the taps ,but you will need to buy a pair ( hot and cold ). its up to you .
