Hot water from expansion pipe

If there is a blockage between the feed and vent the boiler overheat stat usually trips.

How high is the vent over the top of the F/E Tank ie the waterlevel in the vent pipe is the same as of that in the tank. Is the vent simply hooked over the top of the tank?

Even on speed 1 a pump would produce something like 20 litres/minute, and there's only 1litre/min going over. Decent boilers just turn off...!

Quite likely you have a flake of something then obstructing the pipe at the junction, try the blow-down-the-vent. It would be better to blow down (or send the mains down) the feed, but that's a bit harder.

Have now made new loop on vent pipe ,now 40cm above F/E CISTERN
also checked for any ferrous on pipe . nothing sticking to magnet. water still coming from expansion pipe.

8) this could be one of those jobs that there are endless theorys about, I would suggest you change to a sealed system.

To prove the point get yerself a magnetic pick-up tool. It'll probably stick to the pipe where the blockage is because of the ferrous content of the grot.
This tip truly qualifies you for the rank of genius, Chris:cool:
