Hot water only from shower

Hi
A mate of mine has had a Mira thermostatic
shower fitted over his bath and he only gets hot water from it.
He lives in a rented place and when the bathroom was replaced recently he got the shower himself and asked the plumber to fit it for him so he has no way of calling him back.
He was telling me that he thinks the hot and cold are plumbed the wrong way round but I'm not sure why he thinks this?
Has anyone any idea what could be wrong and how to fix it.

if there is no cold supply to it then usually you get an initial flow of water , the,as it heats up the thermostat kicks in and you get a dribble of water.

if its piped up wrong way round then this could do the same, bit diffcult to diagnose with out being in front of it. then again i have never piped one uo wrong way round so i couldnt say for definite!

get the headknob plumber back!
