Hot Water Problem

Hello,

Thanks for looking, and I hope that you're be able to help.
I'm new here, and will thank anyone that posts

PROBLEM.

Our bathroom shower, doesn't seem to be pumping out hot water (Not electric).
It seems that we have to turn the shower off, go downstairs into the kitchen, and run the HOT Tap for about 5 minuets (Until it heats up), then go up to the bathroom and turn the shower on, the Shower will then pump out hot water.

This has only been happening recently, but it's been like it for a few weeks now, and rather annoying.

I've taken a few pics of the Boiler, and some pressure gage ( I think ) in the airing cupboard.

The boiler is in the attic. It's a BAXI Combi Boiler, does Heating and Water.

Anyway, Hope you can help!

The first thing to check would be the shower head.

Make sure the flow has not been reduced too much
due to lime scale.

Remove the head and turn on the shower, does the
water heat up properly now?

Still having the same problem with the Shower-Head removed.

Do you live in a limescale area?
Is the shower thermostatic - it regulates the temperature itself?
Do you have any kind of other controls such as pressure reducing valves, blending valves elsewhere?
Does the boiler operate normally?

My money is on a seized shower thermostat at the moment.

My money is on a seized shower thermostat at the moment.

We move the Shower Handel to the left, you get hot, to the right, cold.

Once the boiler has kicked in, this works as it's meant too... :/

Don't know then.

For whatever reason the boiler's pressure switch is not acting when you put the shower on.

Without it in front of me to test it's impossible to decide whether it's shower or boiler.

I'm not familiar with the workings of that particular baxi but I've come across this problem with alpha boilers in the past where the diaphragm had split in the diverter. The shower alone wouldn't actuate the hot water but if you ran a hot tap the extra flow was enough to actuate it.

It's highly likely that there is a similar problem here.
