Hot water tap very hot

You could take a look at loft tanks ,whilst central heating only is running ,and no demand for DHW ( domestic hot water) ,see if the float valve in the F&E ( small tank) is opening and allowing water into the tank.

Checked for 15 mins and no water opening into tank whilst CH only running. Is it time to get tank replaced or anything else u think needs checked also, cheers

Before changing the tank ,it would need conclusive evidence that the coil is perforated .The test you did is inconclusive .

What make / model boiler do you have?
Have you turned up the temperature on boiler thermostat ,at any time immediately prior to experiencing the DHW temperature getting excessively hot ?
Do you have a thermometer or any instrument to establish exactly what temperature your hot water taps deliver??
As denso13 stated above ,coil perforation would result in the lower cold water cisterns water level increasing ,and more cold water entering the F&E cistern.
However the process can be quite slow and not immediately evident.

Ideal logic heat 24, installed 2013 and serviced last week no issues
Having touched temp of boiler always kept at economy mode but don't know if relevant but had boiler fault middle of December which resulted in CH motorised valve replacement (with cable ties) then new pump replacement start of Jan. Checked and I purchased cyclinder stat 15th Jan so was when 1st noticed water been hot. Have also got 2 new rads added to system and 3 replaced since then also
Sorry nothing to establish temp of water at minute
