Hotpoint sdl510p dishwasher 3h 9h flashing help?

Hi.

I've got an about 4 year old hotpoint sdl510p dishwasher that has given up the ghost.

When turned on, it is OK for a few minutes, then do flashes the wash (3h) and end (9h) lights, and a pump continues to run.
This error code isn't in the manual, hoping someone might be able to shed some light?

It drains water OK, appears to get water in OK, but that's it.

Well I'm onto hotpoint for help. Their answer is ' we'll send an engineer around at your cost, can't give you any other info"
No further forward with this then :-(
