My 14 months old BIWMHG91485UK_WH Built In Washing Machine, bought from AO.com, is faulty.

I put a 60C Bed and Bathroom wash on last night (which takes approx. 3 hours) to wash some towels.

There was excess suds generated for some reason, which has happened before on this setting, even though I only added 1 capsule as normal and a very small amount of fabric softener.

Water started leaking from the door before I switched it off and drained it.

After this I put a quick 10 mins rinse and spin cycle on in order to allow me to open the door.

Since then a very small amount of water leaks from the bottom of the door. Approx a £1 coin size amount on the same 3 hour cycle.

Is this likely to need a new seal and/or door fitted?

Would AO or Hotpoint likely cover this or would I need to try to fix myself?

What is the grey bit in the top right hand corner that seems to go under the control panel and the door in the first pic..

Between the control panel section and top of the door?

The grey square square on the top right hand corner is the magnetic bit for closing the door i think.

I would go back to AO first. At 14 months old it is still well within warranty and the retailer is your first port of call, so do not buy any parts yourself yet. The leak starting with heavy suds is common, the foam climbs the glass and pushes past the door seal, and the small ongoing drip afterwards usually means the door bellows has a small split or has pulled out of its groove. Check round the seal carefully with a torch, especially at the bottom, and run a hot empty wash with a machine cleaner to shift any residue before they come out.

Are they really strict with warranties, or might offer some grace? I'm just under 14 months.

I think the pressure has bellowed the door as i can feel a gap and almost fitting my pinky in the middle of the bottom part of the door when closed.
Is it maybe a new door that would be needed?

Any idea on cost to repair if not covered by the warranty?
