Trying to sort this out for my friend as a favour who is not very wealthy to say the least, doesn't really have the money to pay for an engineer. Her machine was not emptying at all so I took the back off and checked the filter. Sure enough it was clogged full of rubbish, hair clips and all other stuff. I cleared all this out and hoped this would solve the problem. What is very strange is that if we use a quick one cycle wash everything is fine. But if we use a 2 cycle wash it will not empty on the second cycle. I thought maybe the pipe was blocked so I have tried the same wash with the hose pipe just running into the sink, so I can physically see the water drain away. Once again the first cycle everything is fine but the second cycle comes along and it will not empty the water and just stops. I can't work this out in my head? I have checked the filter again and its clear, but if it was the filter the first cycle wouldn't empty would it? Anyone understand this problem? If it was my machine I would just pay an engineer but my friend is living on benefits with 3 kids and £50-£100 is a lot of money for her.
