Hotpoint wf541 washing machine - Flashing Extra Rinse Light?

Hi I hope someone can advise as recently the WF541 washing machine just didn't power on for some reason, so I changed the PCB and still didn't work, put the old one back in and then just pushed all buttons in frustration and it powered on??!! However the Extra Rinse light is flashing rapidly and the machine doesn't always turn on with the first press?

Any help is appreciated.
