can anyone help please as my machine will wash ok but will not spin, checked motor and it turns intermittantly and is noisy- squeeky, belt is ok too, any ideas. Rob.

Sounds like motor brushes worn
Fairly straight forward to change if you look at them they should have a little wear left 10mm or so
If left to wear away completley they could damage the motor armature
