House refurb - changing gravity fed system to combi

We recently did away with our two loft tanks and had the heating system converted to a sealed system and an unvented hot water tank. We had a few of the original rads spring a pinhole leak when the system was pressurised but they, like the majority of the pipework, were from when the house was built in the early sixties so were well over 50 years old. They’ve all been replaced.

could one assume that a leak may be more likely from a radiator that through exidting pipework from the early 1980s?

most common to get leaks at radiator valves, old rads can pinhole when cleanser is used on the system

Get a high flow combi fitted and get rid of the tanks. The Interegas Extreme 32 is 14.5 litre per min. The Ferroli Modena has one that does 16. Both have only four moving parts. Put the combi in and see how it copes with the two bathrooms. You may have to fit Raindance aerated shower heads to cope with two showers simultaneously. Raindance use less water mixing water with air. Fitting aerated taps all around is also a good thing.

You are not an engineer, you are an installer or serviceman. It is as daft as calling mechanics engineers. I doubt you have ever seen the new Ferroli Modena.
