Hello, Could I ask for your views on the best way repair this hole in the floor. It was left when an old heating system boiler was removed and you can see the ducts that used to take the warm air to the rooms. I was wondering if it needs to be filled with concrete but I would need to stop if running in to the ducts, or maybe I can build a framework and put a board over the top to try and bring it level with the existing floor. Not sure if I could cement over boarding. Any advice appreciated. Thank you.

Looks to me like the frame is already there.

Measure thickness of existing floor and cut a piece of sheet material to suit. It's probably either 18 or 22mm thick.
