Can anyone help with my question, please? I need to get rid of a wooden floating floor covered in old adhesive tiles in the kitchen, so I can lay decent tiles on the concrete below, and get the kitchen floor level with the hall floor, so I can add a door between them. Is using a multi tool and using it to cut around the units the best way to do this? That is one suggestion I have had from a tradesman who visited about an unrelated issue.

Your way or take the units out not an option?
Then level and tile.
Put units back

Circular saw set to the same depth as the thickness of the floor, or fractionally less, then break out with a pry bar and a lump of wood. It will wreck the blade, but just accept that as the cost of speed. A multitool will take forever

If you want to remove flooring under the front of the units (if the units have been fitted on top of the flooring), a similar technique but using a chainsaw should be able to reach where the circ saw can't.

Aim not to go all the way through the flooring and hit the concrete with the chainsaw; sliding an old wood saw or other piece of smooth flat metal between the flooring and the concrete where you're doing your cut will help preserve the life of the chain if you do go too deep
