How can I set my Scantronic to silent alarm?

Hi can anyone tell me if it's possible to set my outside alarm chime to silent?
By that, I mean arming the alarm via key pad etc the inside warning going off as normal but not screaming outside.

Do you mean the bell box outside ?
Alarms are designed to ring the outside bell box when activated to inform people of the problem at that property.
Chime function is something different

Yes bell box outside. Is a near 20yr old system which has a problem internally, it triggers off by itself when we not in. Happened a few times, been looked at and system being replaced in a few weeks.

It shouldn't , is the entry / exit contact stuck ?

When was the battery in the control panel last replaced?
Could be faulty battery which is causing intermittent fault with the alarm.
Has it been looked at by an engineer?

Was serviced in the Summer and new battery fitted. Was doing same on odd occasions before battery fitted.
