Hi

Hopefully a quick one guys. I am constructing a slightly raised decking area around 500mm off the ground. Its 9100 by 3600 and I am planning 7 support down the long side and 2 along the short which attaches to the wall.

How deep should I set the posts into the ground?

The post holes need to be 700mm deep and the decking posts are 100mm*100mm treated timber.

You need planning permission if its over 300mm over the whole area, but this is measured from the highest ground point adjacent to your deck.
