How do I conceal external cabling?

Hi
I am installing external security lights onto granite walls. I would like to conceal the cables but would have to drill through over 70cm of granite to do the conventional way.
As I am repointing the external walls soon, is it acceptable to conceal the cables beneath the new pointing?
Any help or advice would be gratefully received.

Wouldn't Pyro be better for putting into mortar joints?

It would have to be sheathed Pyro. Copper will react with damp mortar.

You might as well leave it surface clipped if you're going down the pyro route.
