How do I connect these wires to my downlights - Pic included

Hi all

This is what the wires coming out of my ceiling rose looks like (its a loop-in)



Question: which wires do I connect up to my downlight?

You will need a 4 terminal choc block.

Connect all the RED cores together into 1st terminal

Connect all the EARTH cores together into 2nd terminal

Connect the two BLACKs that DO NOT have a red sleeve to the 3rd terminal

Connect the single BLACK with RED SLEEVE to the fourth terminal

Connect your downlight between the 3rd and 4th terminals - ie between the red sleeved black and the pair of blacks. If it is a metal fitting, connect the earth to the earths.

I am sorry Telly, but if you did not know what that was, then you have no business messing around with electrics. Call someone in who knows what they are doing, before you kill yourself or somebody else.

Au Contrare - I suspect he knew the function of it, but not the name. Knowing its function, he would have been able to apply some logic to what to do with it. Obviously he didn't so came here!
