Hi,

I am just about to move into a house that has a central heating system with a primatic cylinder (according to the surveyor). The problem that I have is that it has been drained as the house is unoccupied.

Does anyone know how I go about re-filling it? I dont know if there is anything special that I need to do when a primatic cylinder is involved.

The water tank fills the hot water cylinder and the central heating/boiler system.
Make sure all drain cocks are shut.
Open valve to fill cold water tank.
As hot water cylinder fills, an air bubble is trapped which keeps the hot water separate from the boiler water.
Bleed radiators as they fill and any other air vents on pipework.
Do NOT add any inhibitors or cleaners.

Thanks for the reply, I am glad that it sounds reasonably straight forward - there will be more than enough to do on moving in day!!
