Hello. Im in need of a little advice. Its possible im over thinking things but im asking around to put my mind at rest.
Im installing a marble floor in my wetroom/ bathroom upstairs
Its a 1930 house. My floor seems soild to walk on. The joists are in good condition between 7x2 7x2.5 inchs. about 12" apart
Its had all the old floor boards screwed down. 6mm ply stuck down with 6mm trowel and bal flexly fibre adhesive both primed screwed at 100 centers. I had todo this to sort out levels for the walk in shower tray.
And then 12mm hardiebacker board on top of that. same 6mm bal adhesive.
I didn't think about it untill I started installing the hardie backer board which was heavyer than I thought it would be. 14kg per sheat. 7 sheats in my bathroom 7M2 floor area. so near on 100kg
Then you have 3 bags of adhesive 60Kgs
plus the ply Im at around 180kg without the marble or bath.
The rooms 3m x 2.3 joists being 3 meters longs.
Am I worrying about nothing? The floor feels rock soild at the moment without any bounce or movement.
Thanks for any advice
