How do i paint my internal door

Afternoon guy's, just removed two door hooks from door & they have painted round them. One was stuck on with grab adhesive by the look of it & the other with a double sided pad.

I think i have cleaned residue off, but is there something i should use to completely clean any residue off.

How do i paint door so these marks don't show through. Cheers

Probably a dab of oil-based stain-block, or failing that, a dab of oil-based undercoat should do the trick.

Spray can of zinsser BIN. Warm it up so it sprays nice.
It's thin so won't clog grain pattern.

If you don't want to spend money go with above advice if you have some undercoat already

Covered stain will do but brush out and it's thicker than some other options. You have a grain effect door.

I done 2 coats of Zinser cover stain & 2 coats of Dulux water based quick dry satinwood (mid sheen)
