How do I remove emulsion from Velux Timber Window frame?

Hi Everyone,

I'm new on here so please be gentle. When painting the walls in the loft conversion we have got paint on the timber Velux frame. We have tried to sand it off but are struggling, does anyone have some quick helpful hints to remove it?

Also, the frame has gone a bit black from condensation over the years, the previous occupant had no radiator in there, should I wood stain, varnish or cotes for white gloss?

How water and a gentle scourer...try holding a rag with hot water on it and picking it off with your nail first.
