How do I replace this bulb?

Hi,

First post and pretty useless at anything DIY related ...

The bulb in the bathroom has stopped working so I took the cover off and found a contraption I'd never seen before.

How do I get this bulb out and get a new one in?

It is called a 2D bulb but there are different wattages, and it simply pulls down to remove.

Its a 16watt lamp (its written on it!)
When you get a replacement, be careful there are 2-pin and 4-pin variants. Make sure you get the right one.

Grasp the plastic section in the middle, then pull directly out from the fitting.

Looks like a 18w 2pin. Might be difficult to find a replacement. You may find it beneficial to replace the entire fitting with an LED version.

Rubbish. Amazon and many more stock this

Screwfix and Toolstation list the product but its out of stock. A move to LED necxt time might be a good plan.

I didn't say unobtainium, just 'difficult' - you will likely not find them in stock at your usual lamp source.
