I've moved a TV and a few other bits from oe end of my lounge to the other and now I want ot remove the 2 old double sockets which are not be used. They are on a ring so I need to keep the wires conneted.

Questions are,

1. Is it safe to remove the socket and connect the wires with a suitable 30amp connection strip (plastic with brass connectors) or do I need a more heavy duty MK 30amp type J/B?

2. Is it safe to then fill / plaster over the J/B or do I have to cover it with a blanking plate?

Any help or previous experience much appreciated.

Connector strip is fine, and no you can't fill it, you'll have to cover it with a blanking plate

In which case you might as well just leave it alone. Can never have too many sockets.

Well - I guess if your wall looks like this, you can...
