Ok it's an ad but still fun.
Interesting from about 1 minute (half way)

Some other crops would be a bit of a challenge...

It's the way the world works these days and on such a large scale it makes economic sense...and it solves a Brexit bugbear of having them pesky foreigners coming over to do jobs we don't want to do.
The Japanese are developing a robot picker for strawberries but they haven't quite mastered the technique yet...but it's only a matter of time before all these labour intensive jobs are sourced out to drones and robots.

That doesn't look as good as a video I saw a few years ago.
A machine makes it's way through an orchard, scanning the fruit as it passes. It then starts selecting which trees to pick from so those that need longer to ripen stay on the tree longest. The machine then wraps two mechanical 'arms' around the tree which are supporting a net arrangement. The two arms vigorously shake the tree and the apples fall into the net. When finished the inner sides of the arms raise up so them form a 'bag' effect to stop the fruit falling out when the arms open to release the tree trunk. It was ingenious. When the apples fell they fell through a wider gapped net just above the bottom of the net to reduce their impact on fruit below and therefore reduce bruising.

Saw those. The use of a tethered drone a peeled to me. They obviously send the suck with the power up the tether.
