I have set a plasterboard section approximately 6mm under flush to the old wall is this too far or just right for 2 coats of skim? View media item 95284
It would be easier to pack out the plasterboard
to the level of the old plaster.
Tape the joint ,then feather the skimming about
a foot into the old plaster .
It should be that the cornerbead above the door lines up flush with old wall so so what ever option you take make sure you have a bead handy to see how it sits at the moment its way off
