Hi,

I would be grateful if any of you professionals could give me a rough idea how much it will cost for the following works to be done at the same time:

1) convert open-vented system to pressurised system: boiler is Potterton Profile 60e; F&E is in the loft

2) power flush the whole system

3) replace 6 rad valves

4) install at least 2 drain valves (no drain valve in heating circuit in the whole house)

5) install Immersion Heater

6) replace bath mixer taps (plus install an Isolation Valve for cold water pipe)

7) replace kitchen mixer tap (plus replace both Hot & Cold Isolation valves for the tap)

Thanks

Depends if you live in a bungalow in the country or the top floor of nelson Mandela house, amongst a thousand other things of course.

Hi Roguetrader,

It's a two-storey house in Elm Park Essex, with parking and stop cock easily accessible.

Thanks

Ball park £1000 plus your taps(can vary massively in cost)

Hi gasservice 1985,

Thank you very much for your reply. If I decide to go for a new combi boiler instead (Immersion & Conversion to pressurised system are no long required) and other works (2,3,4, 6 & 7) are the same, roughly how much will it cost?

Old boiler and cylinder are in 1st floor airing cupboard. F&E and big tank are in the loft.

Any advice is highly appreciated!!!

Thanks.

Find someone to quote it for you. In my opinion, asking anyone to waste their time pricing you on a forum is an insult.

They give free advice as this can be quoted off the top of their head. You want someone to sit there calculating. They aren't going to be doing the job.

Hi,

I do not mean to insult any one. If I did please forgive my ignorance. I thought it is easy for you, because you all are professionals and do the job day in and day out. I am going to find some one to do the job, but because it's long weekend I need to prepare the money before hand. Sorry you feel insulted, hope others won't feel the same way.

Too difficult to say without seeing.

I'm not offended, I can see the reason for your post. Had u been told it was likely to be £5000 you could rethink your plans if required.
It's easier to hear the price in here than have to pick yourself off the floor with the guy in your house.

I don't mean insult as in offended, I mean insult as in taking the p***. Advising you on your heating equipment is what people on here specialise in. Pricing is down to what the individual has to charge against what the local market will stand.

Because a customer accepts a price doesn't make it any more right than it is wrong if the customer doesn't accept it.
