This weekend, I intend to plumb in a new outside tap through the wall of my utility room. I understand that I need to protect the copper pipe from corrosion due to contact with bricks/cement.
A friend says just wrap the pipe in black electrical insulation tape before pushing it into the wall. He says it will act as a barrier.
Is this good enough? What would a plumber do to protect the pipe in this situation?
Many thanks.
