How Should I Protect New Pipe Through Wall From Corrosion?

This weekend, I intend to plumb in a new outside tap through the wall of my utility room. I understand that I need to protect the copper pipe from corrosion due to contact with bricks/cement.

A friend says just wrap the pipe in black electrical insulation tape before pushing it into the wall. He says it will act as a barrier.

Is this good enough? What would a plumber do to protect the pipe in this situation?

Many thanks.

Thanks. What size hole would I need to drill? The friend who advised me lent me his 16mm SDS, which would have been fine with the insulation tape method. Will see if he has a bigger drill size if needed.

I take it his method of protection is a non-starter?

Knock down the wall and build a pipe ducting around the pipe, first class job and creates employment

Can`t disagree with the old hands - but protection from frost/drain down . and double check valve to prevent backflow are more important considerations . I never sleeved mine
