How should we repair this damaged corner?

Hi all,

We recently had our boiler replaced and all the old pipework ripped out which included boxing around one side of the chimney breast. When the boxing was removed it left a bit of damage on the corner of the plasterwork, see picture below.

Also part of the wall hasn't been given a render at all and was wondering how we should go about matching it to the original render higher up? This part of the wall won't be exposed much longer as there will be built in bookcases mounted to this, so plasterboard isn't really an option and most of the repair won't be seen, but it makes sense to get it done.

bonding coat for undercoat then multi as a finish coat then the angle can be formed with an external twitcher or trowel and brush its an easy job

Yes it is. I was thinking of using a angle grinder to cut it flush but am not sure what to fill the void with. The pipe is roughly an inch in diameter.

Also would I need to bond the brick wall with PVA before applying the bonding? If so what strength should I use?

you can use an angle grinder or you can do what I do sometimes whack it with a hammer till its flat either way then put your coat of bonding on after pvaying the wall with a watered down pva mix roughly about 5-1

Might be a daft thing to say but either remove the pipe work completely or at the very least make sure it's bone dry with no old water sat in it.
