A snippet from information promoting the new Nokia 3510 all those years ago:

"...take your senses on a roller coaster ride of polyphonic background sound and vibra effects with five in-phone games."

Must have been a revelation then, but compared to now, it's tame stuff!

That's just crazy. What next? Cameras on phones? Where will it all end!

It will probably end with loads of fat people staring at screens and not talking.

****, that's me now!!!

I can remember never wanting a phone - only yuppies had those and no way did I want to be tarred with that brush!

Oh well...

Friends laugh at my 14 year old Nokia 6100, but it's the best phone I have ever owned. No polyphonic, no apps, not even a camera, though it does vibrate and there is a chess game. Practically it's only really good for text and talk, which is all I need. My pc does everything else.

I often have the last laugh though, as their not-so-smart phones often run out of juice and don't seem to last very long before repairs are needed.
