If it's a plastic pipe, it will expand significantly, so you can't plaster directly over it. I think standard practice is to run it within another pipe? However, how do you clip the pipe to the wall if it's within another pipe? Being plastic and heated, it will sag a lot otherwise.

For copper pipes, I think it's still not a good idea to plaster directly over as it will also expand but it also needs protecting from corrosion. So is it again pipe within pipe? How do you clip again?

I know it's possible to buy the factory wrapped copper pipes but if you're soldering or bending the pipe, the sheath will have to be removed. What do you cover the joint with after for protection?
